Taiwan Episode 2

Taiwan Episode 2:

Jack returns behind the mic for the second installation of DIU Taiwan. This time, he is joined by Uncle Phil, a fellow teacher in Taiwan. Uncle Phil talks about his initial reactions upon landing in Taiwan. Uncle Phil compares his initial time in Taiwan with his time living in Beijing. We also hear about the two going to the Taiwan Pride Parade – and how Jack was super awkward.

We learn that Uncle Phil is also a Love Guru, as deemed by Jack. Jack revives the Kao Lui Corner and immediately puts Phil in the hot seat.

Check out Jack in his television (news) debut in his exciting role as a kei-lei-fei.

Episode 10

Episode 10:

Our good friend, Seb, joins us in the first double-digit episode of DIU Podcast. This week Gavin compares the schooling of Asian countries to that of the West. We discuss how culture could influence students to be more studious and tackle the stereotype of all Asians being great at math. Meanwhile, Jack brings in the issue of how Hong Kongers are always looking down and complaining about the people from mainland China.

Afterwards, the Love Guru asks Seb for some feedback in regards to the Kao Lui Corner.

Here is the infamous Lexi tweet as published by Jack in 2013:
